Description


The RTC module is an ultra low power type and can be connected directly to a Raspberry PI. Although it is designed to be compatible with this development board, it can be adapted and used with other types of micro controllers or boards, such as Arduino.

RTC modules are generally useful for storing the date and time, providing backup solutions where the main power is cut off. Another advantage is that you don't have to do anything, just communicate with the circuit and read the time from its registers.


Specifications

  • Supply voltage: 2.3 V - 5.5 V (3.3 V recommended);
  • Backup battery voltage: 2.3 V - 5.5 V (3 V recommended);
  • Current consumption: 300 μA;
  • Accuracy: ± 3.5 ppm;
  • Also includes temperature sensor;
  • Communicates on the I 2 C interface at a maximum frequency of 400 kHz;
  • Can memorize: hour, minute, second, day of the week, day of the month, month and year;
  • Two alarms can also be set.
